What you need to know before starting:

  • The estimated time is around 8 hours, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm.
  • The only drive from Da nang to Hue City takes around 2 hours.
  • The tour can run with or without a tour guide. The price of the tour is shown without the tour guide service.
  • But, a tour guide can be available to book for starting from Hue City if you like a guide.
  • If without a tour guide, our English-speaking driver is easier to communicate with, which is needed to book early. Please note that the English-speaking driver is not allowed to be a tour guide, that is illegal, just easier to communicate on the road.
  • The tour includes Lunch at a friendly restaurant with tasty food cooked with local stay.
  • A Royal tomb ticket costs 150,000VND per person, and an Imperial palace is 200,000VND per person. The ticket price is not covered because if one of you does not want to go inside, you will save that.

 

Starting to do the trip:

8:30 am our driver picks you up from your hotel in Da Nang City (can be in Hoi An City at an extra charge). An exciting journey to Hue – the old capital of Vietnam – begins.

Stop to visit Hai Van Pass – Ocean Cloud Pass (20 – 30 minutes)

  • The pass, which is located between Da Nang and Hue City, becomes one of the top beautiful passes in Vietnam.
  • Nice view from the top typically during a clear day.
  • The coffee is there for you to choose from while resting.
  • War relics – bunkers – and old gate for checking as well.

We continue going to Lang Co bay right under the pass for photos (10 minutes).

  • The beautiful beach becomes one of the top bays in Vietnam and the world.
  • White sand stretches as silk along the coast.
  • It is one of the great taking-picture places in Vietnam.

Then, drive through the countryside to Khai Dinh Royal tombs (45 minutes).

  • This royal tomb of the 12th King of the Nguyen Dynasty combines modern and old styles, and Western and Asian architecture.
  • Khai Dinh’s tomb was built from 1920-1931, leaning on the mountains with 127 steps to the top.
  • The unique beauty of this destination comes from the old statues, and porcelain and glass internal decoration.
  • Located around 11km from Hue City Center.

We stop for lunch (1 hour)

  • A friendly restaurant is in a hidden place.
  • The tasty food is cooked with the local flavor.
  • Please tell us in advance if you are vegetarian.
  • The family menu is as below:
    1. Lotus Seed Soup
    2. Fried Meat Spring Rolls
    3. Garlic Fried Shrimp
    4. 4. Sweet and Sour Chicken
    5. Crispy Noodles with Vegetables
    6. Fruit for Dessert

After that, visit Thien Mu Pagoda (35 minutes).

  • The pagoda was the oldest one in Hue City, built in 1601.
  • Located on the hill facing the Perfume River, 5 km from the center of Hue.
  • Study the Buddhist temples and the old architecture.
  • Take a walk around the peaceful place to enjoy the nice view.

Explore Hue Imperial Palaces (1.5 hours).

  • Hue Imperial Palaces were the home of the Nguyen King from 1802 to 1945.
  • Many places inside were destroyed, but still many there.
  • Imperial Palaces cover around 40 hectares.
  • Located on the North Bank of the Perfume River.

After visiting the Imperial Palaces, we take the car/van back to your hotel in Da Nang City. Finish an interesting trip.
