Tra Que Vegetable Village has located about 3km from the center of Hoi An ancient town forward the northeast, on the way from Hoi An to Da Nang.

The village has an area of ​​​​about 40 hectares, rotated by farmers to grow more than 40 types of vegetables following the traditional farming style for many generations.

Thanks to the source of clean water, fertile soil, and organic fertilizers that are mainly taken from seaweed and hyacinth in the Co Co River, the vegetables here have a great aroma and crispiness. This vegetable source supplies both Hoi An and a supermarket in Da Nang City.

Tra Que vegetables become an indispensable ingredient to make the famous Mi Quang dish of this land.

Not only have clean vegetables, but also Tra Que people have turned their organic vegetable village and growing method into a tourist destination and product to serve the sightseeing and discovery needs of many domestic and international tourists near and far.

1. Move to the vegetable village

Located quite close to the ancient town where there are many beautiful 4-star Hoi An hotels, it is not difficult to move to Tra Que.

The favorite means of transport for many visitors to this organic vegetable village is a bicycle. Riding slowly on an affordable bicycle, you have the opportunity to see the peaceful rice fields and villages, and easily visit the villagers’ houses of the vegetable village.

If you cannot ride a bicycle, or your hotel is farther away like in Da Nang, then a car is a suitable means of transport. Just hire a car with a driver from a travel agent and you can be assured of moving to this place. However, if traveling by car, you have to park your car outside the small alley leading to the village area. You walk a few hundred meters to see the vegetables.

2. Time to visit Tra Que Vegetable Village

The best times of the day are from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m to 5:30 p.m. This duration is usually not too hot and when Tra Que farmers come out to take care of vegetables.

The time of year to go to Tra Que is from October to December and from February to April every year, when this is the season with great weather for people here to grow vegetables. So, many kinds of vegetables for you to freely explore.

The summer months from May to September are quite hot, and vegetables are difficult to grow, so you should arrange a suitable time of day to visit to avoid the scorching heat.

+ If you only come to the vegetable village to visit and take pictures, you can come anytime you like without reservation.

+ If you want to experience farming, cooking, or having lunch in Tra Que, you should book the service in advance. You can book through a travel agent, hotel, or directly with the local people.

+ Divided by Hai Ba Trung road, Tra Que has two areas. In Vienamdrive’s experience, the right side (if you come from Hoi An city center) is great for visiting in the morning, and the left side is great for exploring in the afternoon. The two parts are relatively similar, so you only need to visit one.

+ Besides Tam Huu dish, É juice is made from the seeds of the é trees which are popularly grown here. So, you should try this drink, it’s both cool and tasty, great for refreshment if you come here on a hot day.
