Private 4-seat and 7-seat vehicles for direct transfers between Da Nang and Dung Quat.
Private car services from Da Nang to Dung Quat (Quang Ngai) are primarily designed for professionals, engineers, and business travelers working in the Dung Quat Economic Zone.
Over many years of providing transportation services in Central Vietnam, we’ve noticed that many professionals choose to stay in Da Nang on weekends to enjoy its modern accommodation, and entertainment. They then return to Dung Quat at the beginning of the work week. This particular travel pattern has created a unique transfer demand for the Da Nang to Dung Quat route.
There are three routes between Da Nang City and Dung Quat (Quang Ngai): traveling mainly via the expressway, driving primarily on National Highway 1A, or following the coastal roads.
In most cases, because Highway 1A is often busy and has lower speed limits over long distances, we usually choose either the expressway or the coastal route.
Simplified route map showing the two main routes between Da Nang and Dung Quat. Here are the reasons for choosing each route:
Firstly, if guests are traveling from Da Nang Airport or the city center, located west of the Han River, they can take the Da Nang – Quang Ngai Expressway. Then, leave the expressway at Chu Lai Toll Plaza and continue toward the coast to reach Dung Quat.
Secondly, for professionals and engineers who often prefer staying in the My Khe Beach area of Da Nang, where many international standard hotels and resorts are located, drivers usually choose the coastal road. They also tend to maintain a higher speed than on sightseeing trips, while always staying within the posted speed limits. This is because most professionals and engineers usually prefer to move directly from one point to another with no stops.
However, there is a very poor section of road at the southern end of Nui Thanh District, just beyond Chu Lai Airport, stretching for about 5 km toward Quang Ngai. This section is still largely unfinished, so traffic moves very slowly. Therefore, when traveling at night, our drivers usually take National Highway 1A before turning back toward Dung Quat, providing a smoother and more comfortable journey.

Train services are inflexible, operating only between Quang Ngai City Center and Da Nang City Center on fixed schedules. Therefore, they are not included in this comparison. Similarly, local buses do not provide the level of comfort and service expected by most foreign professionals and engineers, so they have also been excluded.
This leaves only taxis and private cars. Although these two options are similar in many ways, they also have several important differences. The following table provides a summary comparison.
| Criteria | Private Car | Taxi |
|---|---|---|
| Best Suited For | Professionals, engineers, and business travelers working in the Dung Quat Economic Zone | Travelers who need one-time, on-demand transportation |
| Drivers | Drivers regularly serve international visitors, professionals, and business travelers | Experience and familiarity with the route vary from driver to driver |
| Route Selection | Drivers choose the most suitable route based on the pickup location and departure time | Drivers usually follow the route suggested by the navigation app |
| Experience on the Dung Quat Route | Familiar with the entrances to the Dung Quat Economic Zone and know which road sections to avoid at certain times | Not every driver is familiar with this route |
| Long-Term Bookings | Many companies in Dung Quat arrange monthly or annual contracts to provide regular transportation for their professionals and engineers | Primarily designed for one-time trips and generally not suitable for long-term transportation contracts |
Due to the travel patterns on the Da Nang to Dung Quat route, which is primarily used by professionals and engineers traveling alone, in pairs, or occasionally with their small families, a 4-seater or 7-seater vehicle is usually sufficient. Therefore, the price list below includes only these two vehicle types and does not include 16-seater vehicles, unlike many of our other routes.
| Vehicle Type | Max. Passengers | Luggage | Starting Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4-seat sedan (Toyota Vios, Hyundai Accent, or similar) | 1 or 2 | 2 large suitcases + 1 small soft bag | USD 100 |
| 7-seat SUV (Toyota Innova, Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe, GreenLimo, or similar) | Up to 4 | 3 large suitcases + 1 small soft bag | USD 120 |

The Vietnamdrive team often sees professionals and foreign engineers traveling from Da Nang Airport to Dung Quat when they first arrive or return from extended annual leave. Although Chu Lai Airport is much closer to Dung Quat, it offers fewer flight options. As a result, many companies book flights to Da Nang Airport and arrange private transfers from Da Nang directly to factories in the Dung Quat Economic Zone.
For regular weekly travel, journeys from Da Nang to Dung Quat typically take place on late Sunday afternoons, allowing professionals to prepare for the upcoming work week. There are also early Monday morning departures, usually between 5:00 and 5:30 AM, to ensure they arrive in time for morning meetings.

We usually work with companies in the Dung Quat Economic Zone under monthly transportation contracts. This arrangement saves time for both company assistants and professionals, as there is no need to arrange a transfer for each trip individually.
With a monthly contract, the assigned vehicle and driver arrive on time at the designated hotel or pickup location in Da Nang, ready to depart for Dung Quat, or to return from Dung Quat to Da Nang. This allows professionals to focus on their work without having to worry about transportation arrangements, resulting in greater convenience and a more relaxing weekend.
Because the Da Nang to Dung Quat route has a unique operating schedule, with most trips taking place on weekends and early Monday mornings, it differs from daily transportation services. As a result, the same driver and vehicle may not always be available. However, the Vietnamdrive team will arrange a vehicle of the same category, with good air conditioning and the same service standards, to ensure a consistent travel experience for professionals and engineers.
Of course. We understand that recreational options in Quang Ngai are somewhat limited, so the Vietnamdrive team is ready to pick up professionals and their families from Dung Quat (Quang Ngai) for weekend getaways in Da Nang.
