5-Day Itineraries in Ho Chi Minh City with a Private Car

Choose a 5-day itinerary in Ho Chi Minh City that matches your travel style, with a private car used where it adds the most value.

There is no single 5-day itinerary for Ho Chi Minh City that suits every traveler. Instead of offering just one itinerary, this article helps you compare different ways to spend your five days, understand the advantages of each option, and find the itinerary that best aligns with your travel goals and style. While a private car is a key mode of transportation, it does not necessarily need to be used every day.

This is the same approach the Vietnamdrive team uses when advising international travelers before designing their itineraries. We recognize that some travelers want to focus on Ho Chi Minh City’s highlights during their first visit to Vietnam. Others may wish to experience local life, explore the Mekong Delta, or use Ho Chi Minh City as a hub for onward travel to nearby cities or other regions of the country.

Therefore, we present five different ways to design a 5-day itinerary centered on Ho Chi Minh City, with recommendations on where to visit and when a private car or other transportation options make the most sense.

Why Five Days Offer More Ways to Design Your Journey

Spending five days in Ho Chi Minh City means more than just having extra time. Crucially, it opens up a variety of ways to craft your itinerary.

With only two or three days, most travelers barely have enough time to explore the city itself and perhaps take a single day trip to the surrounding area.

With five days, however, you can devote more time to the city, incorporate one or two excursions further afield, or plan a multi-destination journey without feeling rushed.

This is where the way you design your itinerary makes a real difference.

Instead of trying to cram in as many stops as possible, you can structure each day around a clear objective, balancing travel time, experiences, and downtime.

The goal isn’t necessarily to visit the most places, but to use those five days in a way that best aligns with the purpose of your trip.

Is Five Days Enough?

Yes, if:

  • This is your first time exploring Ho Chi Minh City or Southern Vietnam.
  • You want to combine city exploration with one or two trips further afield, such as to the Mekong Delta, the Cu Chi Tunnels, or Vung Tau.
  • You want an itinerary that balances urban experiences, culture, and history with excursions outside the city.
  • You plan to use Ho Chi Minh City as a starting point before traveling to other parts of Vietnam.

Five days might not be enough if:

  • Your goal is to explore the entirety of Southern Vietnam.
  • You want to visit more distant destinations like Phu Quoc or Con Dao.
  • You wish to explore multiple areas of the Mekong Delta in depth, rather than just taking a short trip from Ho Chi Minh City.

In these cases, you should allocate more time or continue your journey to other destinations instead of trying to fit everything into a five-day itinerary.

The Logic Behind a 5-Day Itinerary

Designing a 5-day itinerary involves more than just selecting standout destinations. It is crucial to determine the role Ho Chi Minh City will play in your overall journey.

Given its location and the presence of Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City can serve as a starting point, an endpoint, or a hub for exploring the South and connecting to other regions of Vietnam.

  • Use Ho Chi Minh City as a Base
Designate Ho Chi Minh City as your primary destination, a base for exploring the South, or a central hub before continuing your journey.
  • Plan Around Your Arrival and Departure Flights
Structure the first and last days based on your arrival times, the need for rest, and your onward flights or travel plans from Tan Son Nhat Airport.
  • Design the Route to Avoid Unnecessary Backtracking
Map out the sequence of destinations first, then allocate them to specific days to minimize unnecessary return trips to Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Use a Private Car Where It Adds the Most Value
While a private car is a key mode of transportation, it does not need to be used for the entire five-day duration. Prioritize using a private car for days involving long-distance travel, multiple stops, or a need for schedule flexibility, rather than using it continuously for every activity.

Five Ways to Spend 5 Days in Ho Chi Minh City

Itinerary 1: Ho Chi Minh City as the Starting Point for Exploring Vietnam

This itinerary is ideal if you plan to use Ho Chi Minh City as the starting point for your journey through Vietnam. Instead of spending all five days in the city itself, you will combine key Ho Chi Minh City experiences with highlights of the southern region before continuing to other parts of the country.

For many international travelers, Tan Son Nhat International Airport serves as their primary gateway to Vietnam, with convenient flight connections from around the world. As a result, many visitors spend about five days in Ho Chi Minh City to acclimate to the country before continuing their journey to destinations such as Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue, Hanoi, or Phu Quoc.

Rather than rushing into sightseeing immediately after your flight, this itinerary follows a balanced pace, giving you time to adjust to the local climate, traffic, and rhythm of life before embarking on the next stages of your journey.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City. A driver will pick you up at Tan Son Nhat Airport. After checking in and resting, you can explore District 1 on foot or take short taxi rides.

Day 2: Explore Ho Chi Minh City landmarks. Visit landmarks such as the Independence Palace, Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, War Remnants Museum, and the city center. A private car is recommended for a seamless visit to these multiple locations.

Day 3: Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels. A private car is recommended to make the most of your time and schedule.

Day 4: Journey to the Mekong Delta. A private car is recommended for this day trip.

Day 5: Shop, relax, or visit any sites you may have missed before continuing your journey to other parts of Vietnam.

Why is the itinerary designed this way?

The unique aspect of this itinerary lies not in the number of attractions, but in the pacing of the five days.

The first day is kept light to allow your body to adjust after an international flight, especially after long-haul travel and jet lag. Instead of spending hours in a vehicle, you can simply walk or take short trips within the city center.

Who is this itinerary for?

This option is suitable if you:

  • Are visiting Vietnam for the first time and want an overview of Ho Chi Minh City and the South.
  • Want to combine the highlights of Ho Chi Minh City with the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta.
  • Plan to continue your journey to Central Vietnam, Northern Vietnam, or Phu Quoc after leaving Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Want a balanced itinerary that mixes sightseeing and experiences with time to relax.
  • Want to explore multiple attractions while maintaining a relatively relaxed, unhurried pace.

When does a private car offer the most value?

You do not necessarily need to use a private car for all five days of this itinerary.

If you are staying in the city center, you might use a private car on the first day for the airport transfer from Tan Son Nhat to your hotel. Afterward, you can explore the central area on foot or use taxis and ride-hailing apps (like Grab) for short trips.

A private car offers greater value on days involving multiple attractions or long distances—specifically for trips to the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta. In these cases, a private car gives you flexibility with your schedule, allows for multiple stops, and saves you from having to switch transport modes during the day.

You may not need a private car on the final day either, provided you only need a transfer from your hotel to the airport; a taxi or Grab is a simple and convenient option. For large groups requiring bigger vehicles, Vietnamdrive can arrange a van or charter bus suited to your group size.
The second day focuses on exploring Ho Chi Minh City, giving you a better understanding of the city before venturing to nearby destinations.

The Cu Chi Tunnels visit is scheduled for the third day, once you have become more accustomed to the local weather and pace of life. The Mekong Delta trip follows the next day, balancing the urban experience with the river landscape to create a diverse yet unhurried journey.

Itinerary 2: Ho Chi Minh City, Local Rhythms and Everyday Experiences

This itinerary is ideal if your goal is not to check off a long list of famous tourist attractions, but rather to spend five days immersing yourself in the city’s daily life.

Instead of rushing through a checklist of destinations, you will spend more time exploring specific areas, discovering local cafés, neighborhoods, markets, and narrow alleyways while observing the daily routines of local residents. On this journey, Ho Chi Minh City becomes more than just a sightseeing destination. It becomes a place to experience a slower pace of life amid the city’s fast-moving energy.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Nguyen Hue and the Pulse of the City
A private car will pick you up at Tan Son Nhat Airport and transfer you to your hotel.

After resting, get acquainted with the city center by strolling along Nguyen Hue Boulevard and exploring the various cafés in the famous “Cafe Apartment” building at 42 Nguyen Hue. The evening is the perfect time to soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the downtown area.

Day 2: Exploring Local Commerce and Cuisine
Discover areas that showcase Ho Chi Minh City’s daily commercial life, ranging from wholesale markets such as An Dong and Tan Binh to various shopping districts and commercial streets. You can also combine this with a street food experience and a visit to Nhat Tao, a long-established area known for the city’s electronics trade.

Day 3: Cho Lon and Local Cultural Highlights
Spend time exploring Cho Lon (Chinatown), including its Chinese community, markets, assembly halls, and historic pagodas. To broaden your perspective on local life and culture, you might also include a visit to the FITO Museum (Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine).

Day 4: A Day Tailored to Your Interests
Choose an excursion outside the city based on your preferences. You could head to Can Gio to explore nature and coastal life, visit Ben Tre to experience river culture, or tour the Cu Chi Tunnels if you are interested in history. Limiting the excursion to a single day ensures that the journey remains focused on Ho Chi Minh City itself.

Day 5: Relaxation and Leisurely Exploration
Dedicate your final day to the activities you enjoy most, such as savoring coffee, shopping, walking, or revisiting an area you wish to explore further. Afterward, return to your hotel to prepare for your flight or onward journey.

Why is this itinerary designed this way?

What sets this itinerary apart is not the sheer number or fame of the destinations, but rather its focus on local life and culture.

It follows Vietnamdrive’s signature approach: instead of constantly rushing between locations, each day features a curated selection of sights, fewer in number, yet ideal for gaining a deeper understanding of the people and everyday life beneath the bustle of Saigon’s streets.

Slowing down allows you to remain relaxed wherever you are, which is a key element of our design philosophy. Even with just five days in Ho Chi Minh City, you have ample time to experience the diverse layers of the city’s urban life.

Vietnamdrive intentionally allocates more time to each area rather than packing the schedule too tightly. If you stumble upon an interesting café where you’d like to linger and people-watch, or a vibrant market where you want to stay a little longer, the itinerary gives you the flexibility to make those adjustments.

If you choose to take a trip outside the city, the itinerary dedicates just one day to broadening your experience, ensuring that the primary goal, exploring Ho Chi Minh City itself, remains the focus.

This design ensures that most of the five days are centered on local life while maintaining the flexibility to adapt to your personal preferences and energy levels.

Who is this itinerary for?

This option is suitable if you:

  • Want to explore Ho Chi Minh City through local life rather than simply visiting famous tourist attractions.
  • Enjoy coffee culture, cuisine, markets, and the atmosphere of the streets.
  • Want to spend plenty of time walking and exploring different neighborhoods.
  • Are not overly concerned with visiting every museum or famous landmark.
  • Prefer a slow-paced itinerary with plenty of flexibility.

When does a private car offer the most value?

You do not need a private car for most of this itinerary.

The first three days focus mainly on Ho Chi Minh City and its immediate surroundings, where a combination of walking and Grab (ride-hailing) is often more flexible for short distances.

A private car offers more value when taking a day trip to places farther afield, such as Can Gio, Ben Tre, or the Cu Chi Tunnels, especially if you want greater control over your schedule, wish to combine multiple stops, or prefer to avoid the hassle of switching between different modes of transportation.

This itinerary involves using a private car selectively, rather than continuously throughout all five days.

Itinerary 3: Ho Chi Minh City Through the Lens of Vietnamese Culture and History

This itinerary is ideal if your goal is not merely to sightsee in Ho Chi Minh City, but also to understand the historical and cultural narratives that have shaped the city and Southern Vietnam as they are today.

The five-day program is designed to weave together diverse experiences, ranging from architecture and modern history to the Vietnam War, the Chinese community, Southern Vietnamese culture, and Vietnamese art. Each day offers a unique perspective on the formation and evolution of Ho Chi Minh City.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Architecture and the Historic Center
A private car will pick you up at Tan Son Nhat Airport and transfer you to your hotel. After resting, you will begin exploring the city center and landmarks tied to Saigon’s history, such as Ben Thanh Market, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, and the surrounding areas, depending on your arrival time.

Day 2: Modern History and the Vietnam War
Explore the Independence Palace and the War Remnants Museum, then proceed to the Cu Chi Tunnels to gain deeper insight into the daily life, strategies, and historical context of the Vietnam War.

Day 3: Cho Lon and the Chinese Community
Discover Cho Lon and the cultural footprint of the Chinese community, spanning architecture, religious beliefs, cuisine, and commerce. This offers a different perspective on the cultural diversity that has helped shape Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4: River Culture in the Mekong Delta
Take a trip to Ben Tre and My Tho to experience the river-based lifestyle of the Mekong Delta. This journey highlights the connections between the Mekong Delta region and Ho Chi Minh City through trade, agricultural produce, cuisine, and riverside living.

Day 5: Art and the City’s Cultural Layers
Spend time exploring the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts and selected galleries or art spaces before preparing for your flight or onward journey.

Why is this itinerary designed this way?

What sets this itinerary apart is its layered approach to experiences, designed to help you understand Ho Chi Minh City within the broader context of Vietnam and the Southern region.

The journey begins in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, where you can observe the traces of its urban formation and development. It then extends to the Cu Chi Tunnels to provide a deeper perspective on modern history and the Vietnam War, before returning to explore Cho Lon and the influence of the Chinese community on city life.

Day 4 expands the scope to the Mekong Delta. This connects the story of Ho Chi Minh City with the region’s river-based culture, trade, and the flow of goods from the west, elements that have long been intertwined with the city’s growth.

The final day is kept relaxed, allowing you time to rest, further explore the city center, and prepare for your flight or onward journey.

Who is this itinerary for?

This option is ideal if you:

  • Wish to understand Vietnamese history and culture rather than simply visit famous tourist attractions.
  • Are interested in architecture, museums, and the stories behind each location.
  • Want to explore Ho Chi Minh City in depth and understand its connection to Southern Vietnam.

When does a private car offer the most value?

A private car provides the most value on days involving multiple stops or travel outside the city center, specifically for trips to the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta.

For days spent exploring Cho Lon and other areas within the city, you can flexibly combine walking with taxis or Grab, depending on what best suits your schedule.

Therefore, while a private car remains the primary mode of transportation for this itinerary, it does not necessarily need to be used continuously throughout all five days.

Itinerary 4: A Flexible 5-Day Schedule Tailored to Your Style

This itinerary is ideal if you want a clear plan but prefer not to finalize every detail before your trip begins.

Instead of filling all five days with fixed activities, this itinerary intentionally leaves room for flexibility, allowing you to make decisions after experiencing Ho Chi Minh City firsthand. Options include a day trip to the Mekong Delta, Vung Tau, or Can Gio, a relaxing day exploring your favorite neighborhoods, or simply spending more time on spontaneous experiences that arise during your trip.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrival and a First Taste of Ho Chi Minh City
Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, check in, and explore the city center. A riverside dinner is recommended so you can admire the city’s sparkling lights along the Saigon River.

Day 2: City Highlights or Free Exploration
Visit city highlights or your top-priority attractions. Vietnamdrive leaves this day open for you to choose your own activities, embracing the spirit of “Free Exploration in HCMC.”

Day 3: Choose a Day Trip or Explore the City
Choose a day trip, such as attending a ceremony at Cao Dai Great Temple in Tay Ninh and visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels, or continue exploring other areas of the city. A private car is recommended for excursions outside the city center.

Day 4: A Flexible Day
After experiencing Ho Chi Minh City, you can decide whether to continue exploring the city or take a trip to the Mekong Delta, Vung Tau, Can Gio, or another destination that suits your interests and circumstances. A private car is recommended for road trips.

Day 5: Relax and Continue Your Journey
Relax before heading home or continuing your journey to your next destination in Vietnam.

Why is this itinerary designed this way?

The unique aspect of this itinerary lies not in the destinations themselves, but in when you make your decisions.

Many travelers only discover what they truly want to do after spending the first few days getting a feel for Ho Chi Minh City. Weather conditions can change, you might find a neighborhood you want to explore longer than planned, or you may simply feel the need for a rest day before continuing your journey.

Instead of requiring you to decide everything in advance, this itinerary intentionally leaves room for flexibility in your sightseeing choices. It allows you to make decisions after arriving in Ho Chi Minh City and getting a better sense of the local atmosphere. This approach provides a flexible journey while maintaining a logical structure for your five days in the bustling city.

Who is this itinerary for?

This option is suitable if you:

  • Want a plan but prefer an itinerary that isn’t overly rigid.
  • Like to adjust your plans based on the weather, your energy levels, or experiences that arise during the trip.
  • Haven’t yet decided whether to spend more time in the city or explore destinations outside Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Want to strike a balance between sightseeing, relaxation, and flexibility.

When does a private car offer the most value?

You don’t need to commit to a private car from the start. It becomes the best choice when you want a more comfortable travel experience and want a vehicle ready whenever you need it. At that point, convenience may matter more than cost.

For travelers looking to balance budget and convenience:

If you continue exploring the city center, a combination of walking and taxis or ride-hailing apps is usually the most convenient option. If you choose to travel to the Mekong Delta, Vung Tau, Can Gio, or other destinations outside the city, a private car with a professional driver allows you to complete your day’s itinerary with greater flexibility, without being bound by the fixed schedules of group tours.

Itinerary 5: Ho Chi Minh City as a Gateway to Southern Vietnam

This itinerary is ideal if you wish to use Ho Chi Minh City as a central hub for exploring various destinations across Southern Vietnam by private car.

Instead of spending most of your five days in the city center, the itinerary extends outward with road trips to Cu Chi and the Mekong Delta. You will experience the history, culture, river-based lifestyle, and landscapes of Southern Vietnam, while using Ho Chi Minh City as your starting and ending point.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City
Airport pickup, hotel check-in, and a leisurely exploration of the city center.

Day 2: Cu Chi → Ben Tre
Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels, then continue to Ben Tre instead of returning to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3: Ben Tre → Can Tho
Continue exploring the Mekong Delta before traveling to Can Tho.

Day 4: Can Tho → Ho Chi Minh City
Visit the Cai Rang Floating Market early in the morning, then return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh City
Relax, shop, or enjoy some light sightseeing before your flight or onward journey.

Who is this itinerary suitable for?

This option is suitable if you:

  • Don’t want to spend too much time in a bustling city and would rather explore destinations outside Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Enjoy road trips with diverse scenery and stops along the way.
  • Want to explore Southern Vietnam and experience the river life of the Mekong Delta before continuing to other regions or returning home.
  • Want to combine Ho Chi Minh City with a continuous road trip instead of taking multiple day trips from the city.

When does a private car offer the most value?

This is one of the five options where a private car with a driver offers the most value throughout the entire trip.

Most of the key legs of the journey are outside Ho Chi Minh City and require road travel. A private car gives you greater control over your departure times and the flexibility to stop along the way.

Common Mistakes When Planning a 5-Day Trip to Ho Chi Minh City

A well-planned itinerary isn’t just about how many attractions you visit; it’s also about avoiding pitfalls such as excessive travel time, an overcrowded schedule, choosing the wrong area to stay, or using unsuitable modes of transportation.

Below are some common mistakes the Vietnamdrive team has observed while advising international travelers on their 5-day trips to Ho Chi Minh City, along with suggestions to help you avoid them.

Itinerary Planning Mistakes

These mistakes can make a five-day itinerary feel rushed or unbalanced, even when the destinations themselves are worth visiting.

1. Trying to Visit Too Many Places in One Day

A common mistake is trying to fit too many attractions into a single day simply because they appear close together on a map. Even within Ho Chi Minh City, too many stops can leave little time to slow down, explore, and fully experience each area.

For example, combining the Cu Chi Tunnels with the Mekong Delta is feasible, but the route matters. Choosing Ben Duoc before continuing to the Mekong Delta adds more travel time, while combining Ben Dinh with Ben Tre can provide a better balance.

2. Overloading Your First Day

After a long flight or upon arriving from another city in Vietnam, many travelers want to start sightseeing immediately so they don’t “waste time.” However, a relaxed start gives you time to adjust to the weather, traffic, and pace of life in Ho Chi Minh City, while also preserving your energy for the days ahead.

3. Leaving Too Little Time Before Your Next Flight

If you have an international flight or are traveling to another destination in Vietnam on your final day, scheduling an activity that is far away or takes too long, especially one that leaves you with little time before departure, can make the entire day stressful.

Be sure to factor in the time needed for check-out and travel to the airport, as well as a buffer for traffic or unexpected situations.

Transportation and Travel Time Mistakes

4. Using a Private Car for Every Leg of the Trip

A private car offers great value for long-distance travel, multi-destination itineraries, or situations where schedule flexibility is required. However, not every activity during a five-day trip requires a car.

When exploring the city center, walking or using ride-hailing services like Grab can be more convenient for short distances. Conversely, a private car proves its value when traveling to destinations such as the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Mekong Delta, Tay Ninh, Vung Tau, or Can Gio.

Vietnamdrive Insight: When advising on a five-day itinerary, we look beyond simply how many days a client wants to rent a car. We review the entire journey first to identify which days a private car adds the most value, then develop a suitable transportation plan.

5. Underestimating Actual Travel Time

The distance between two points on a map does not always accurately reflect the actual travel time.

Traffic conditions in Ho Chi Minh City, in particular, can cause travel times along the same route to vary significantly depending on the time of day. Consequently, an overly tight schedule can turn a seemingly well-planned day into a rushed experience.

Interestingly, weekends are not always the busiest times for traffic in the city center. On typical Saturdays and Sundays, many locals leave the city for getaways to Vung Tau, Da Lat, Mui Ne, or nearby destinations. This can leave Saigon’s streets feeling more open and less congested, making it much more pleasant for international visitors to travel between attractions in the city center.

Vietnamdrive Insight: When designing an itinerary, we consider not only the distances between destinations but also the timing of travel and the sequence of visits. Sometimes, simply changing the departure time or the order of stops can significantly reduce the time spent on the road.

6. Walking Too Much at Midday

Many attractions in District 1 are close to one another, but that doesn’t mean you should spend the entire day walking.

The hot weather and high humidity, especially around midday, can quickly drain your energy. This time is better spent resting, enjoying a coffee, or visiting indoor attractions before resuming your exploration in the afternoon.

Accommodation Location Considerations

7. Choosing a Hotel Without Considering Its Location

A hotel is more than just a place to sleep. Its location can directly affect your travel time and how you experience Ho Chi Minh City.

If your itinerary relies heavily on a private vehicle, your choice of hotel location can be more flexible. Conversely, if you plan to explore the city on foot or use ride-hailing services like Grab, choosing the right area can make a significant difference.

Instead of selecting a hotel solely based on its star rating or amenities, consider the area you most want to experience.

  • Lê Lợi and the Ben Thanh Market area: Ideal for convenient sightseeing around District 1’s highlights and easy access to other parts of the city. Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint Hotel and Sedona Suites Ho Chi Minh City are excellent options here.
  • Nguyễn Huệ Street: Perfect if you enjoy evening strolls, exploring cafes and restaurants, and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of the city center. The Rex Hotel Saigon and Kim Do Royal Hotel Saigon are located here, offering easy access to the Municipal Theatre, Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Bach Dang Wharf. However, direct car access to the entrance can be difficult in the evenings when the street becomes a pedestrian zone.
  • Tôn Đức Thắng Street: A great choice if you prioritize a riverside setting, enjoy walking, and want easy access to Bach Dang Wharf. The Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon is a standout option in this area.

Vietnamdrive Insight: We begin by understanding how you wish to spend your five days, then design the itinerary, select transportation, and recommend suitable accommodation areas. Choosing the right hotel location can significantly reduce travel time throughout your trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not exactly. A 5-day itinerary is not simply a matter of stitching together a 2-day itinerary and a 3-day itinerary.

Each itinerary is designed around a specific timeframe and travel objective. Schedules for 2- or 3-day trips are usually more condensed to make the most of the limited time. With five days, you have more flexibility to set a comfortable pace, explore Ho Chi Minh City in greater depth, and extend your journey to nearby areas without constantly rushing.

Furthermore, simply combining two itineraries can lead to backtracking or overlapping destinations, making the overall trip less efficient.

While it is certainly possible to combine ideas from 2-day and 3-day itineraries into a 5-day trip, adjustments to the sequence of destinations, the time allocated to each area, and transportation logistics are usually needed to create a seamless route.

That is why Vietnamdrive does not simply add shorter itineraries together. Instead, we redesign the journey based on the total duration, trip goals, and logical connections between destinations.

There is no fixed price for a private car service for a 5-day itinerary in Ho Chi Minh City. The cost depends on the itinerary design, the actual number of days the car is needed, the vehicle type, the number of passengers, and any travel to locations outside the city.

Notably, the cost of a private car does not necessarily increase linearly with the number of days in the itinerary. A program focused on exploring the city center might only require a car for specific parts of the journey, whereas an itinerary extending to Cu Chi, Ben Tre, Can Tho, or more distant locations would require more extensive vehicle use.

Therefore, instead of applying a flat rate for the entire five-day period, Vietnamdrive typically determines the itinerary first and then calculates transportation costs based on the specific day, leg, or the program as a whole, depending on the trip design.

If you already have a trip concept in mind, you can send a brief to Vietnamdrive. We will review the route, the number of days requiring a vehicle, and the group size to develop a suitable transportation plan and provide a quote.
