Perhaps, those who visit Da Lat will also be ecstatic with the poetic landscape of this city. And, you will love Da Lat more if you enjoy its cuisine style at the following venues introduced by Vietnam Drive.
Which are popular dishes which should be tasted in Da Lat?
Banh mi xiu mai (Vienamese bread with meatballs)
Banh mi – the popular dish throughout Vietnam, is modified into “banh mi xiu mai” to match the fairly cold weather of Da Lat. It is just a fresh hot bread but served with a bowl of tasty xiu mai soup and small meatballs, some chilli oil and finally embellished with a little green onion. Such a perfect choice for a breakfast.

Banh can xiu mai cay bo
This specialty is best served at afternoon meal, featuring crispy crust and fragrant stuffing (which is either chicken egg or quail egg). What makes banh can xiu mai cay bo so different is the brilliant sauce. This sauce is made with deep fried onion, sweet and sour fish sauce decorated with some xiu mai meatballs; all of them together build up the tasty dish for you to enjoy under the slightly cold weather. The venue is quite small and often crowded so we suggest you to arrive early and try the exciting cheese yogurt while waiting for the main dish.

Da Lat night market
Visiting Da Lat without attending the night market is definitely a huge pity. This is the paradise for big nosh food lovers with various interesting and cheap menus, But to me, I especially love the grilled ones, such as corn, eggs, meat stick (with various ingredients from vegetable to pork, frog, fish, etc). Then, the hot dishes like “bun rieu” (rice vermicelli with sour soup and crabs), hu tieu, crab soup. And finally, the specialty that makes itself the symbol of Da Lat cuisine: the “banh trang nuong” (baked rice paper). This dish is widely loved by the youth and it is even nicknamed “Vietnamese pizza”. Give yourself a chance and visit the market, you do not want to miss it.

Thanh Thao avocado ice cream
Located at No.76 Nguyen Van Troi Street, the shop has long been the gathering place for the youth. They choose this place not only for the chats but for its special avocado ice cream. One small ball of ice cream is placed on the greasy ground avocado. The smoothie is also very good. You should get to the shop early as it often gets crowded very soon.
