On the streets in Hoi An from 8:00am to
11:00 am, 2:30pm to 4:30 pm and 7:00pm to 9:pm, motorbikes and
all means of motorized transport do not be allowed.
People must leave their means of transport at parking lots
outside the town before entering or turn off their vehicles to
walk in. Pedestrians, wheelchairs and bikes and other means of
motionless transport can be used in the Hoi An ancient town -
the walking town area.
To
organize the town without motorized vehicles is to bring quiet
and comfortable atmosphere to visitors as well as to preserve
the ancient architecture of the town.
The walking town is expected to be a popular feature of Hoi An.
This reflects not only the architecture, but is also related to
urban society and culture, trade development and tourism in the
town.
