You can go back to the war sites, including the Ben Hai River chosen as a demarcation line, Hien Luong Bridge- the historic bridge crossing the Ben Hai River, Cua Tung Beach- a wild beach and Vinh Moc Tunnels- a fantastic village underground (half-day tour-recommended); then, continue driving on Ho Chi Minh Trails to visit Rock Pile- a famous base in the forest and Khe Sanh Combat Base (full-day tour- optional).
On the way from Hue to DMZ, you can also visit Long Hung Church, which was destroyed by bombs during the war, this shows that war is terrible for everyone.
